Future Business Magnates 2011/12
The race to find the next generation of entrepreneurs is now underway with the launch of this year’s Future Business Magnates competition.
The contest, run by Durham County Council, is the biggest yet with 24 teams of year 8 pupils (12 and 13 year olds) from secondary schools across the county taking part.
Each school team is matched to a local business, which acts as mentor and supports the team to develop a business idea. This year the theme is ‘creative and cultural industries’ and competition is hotter than ever.
After completing a series of six challenges during the year, the competition culminates with an Awards Dinner, which will be held in July 2012 and hosted by Star Radio for the second year running.
Participation in enterprise is crucial for the future of County Durham’s economy.
