Richmond Vikings Vs Wirral Rockets
Richmond Vikings invite you along to cheer them to victory against Wirral Rockets. Richmond are in thir first ever campaign into the Nation Fouders Cup which is one of England Basketball's longest running and most prestigious cups. This will be Richmond's first home game of the cup at Darlington College against a Wirral side that they narrowly lost to in the entertaining reverse fixture just before Xmas. Richmond are hoping that the home crowd will be enough to edge them to victory this time round.
Entry to the game is FREE and there are hot/cold refreshments available as well as plenty of seating. This is a perfect opportunity to spend 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon, cheering on a local side against a team from Wirral in the highest level of basketball to be played in Darlington for a number of years.
Dont worry if you have never watched a game before. it is fast paced, full of action and literally is a thrill a minute! And even if this is not your normal cup of tea, give it a try, most people end up coming back again and again!
Game starts promptly at 2pm, spectators are asked to be seated by 1:45pm.
Thanks and see you there.

Richmond Vikings V Wirral Rockets 11/02/2012 - NOT 04/01/2012 as previously advertised!
Richmond Vikings need your help! They are up against Wirral Rockets in the group stages of the National Founders Cup competition. Wirral have already beaten Richmond in a close game in the reverse fixture away at Wirral just before Xmas. Now Richmond is hoping the support of a home crowd will be enough to help them overcome the ex-National League team. The Founders Cup competition is one of the longest and most prestigious basketball cup competitions in the country and is the highest level of basketball to have been played in Darlington in recent years. Entry to the game is FREE and hot/cold refreshments are available. All we ask is that you come down, shout as loud as you can (for us) and enjoy yourself! Not much to ask for free! There is ample seating and a spectator gallery in case the noise gets a bit much for some so the more people the better to make it as intimidating as possible for the away side (within reason)!
The game starts at 2pm, spectators are asked to be seated by 1:45pm ready to enjoy the game. Don’t worry if you have never watched a game before or even if you don’t think you would enjoy it, most people think that….before they come down for the first time!

TITANIC, THE MUSICAL
Described by the critics as “the greatest American musical to have been written in the last 15 years” the award-winning Titanic, The Musical will have its North East premiere in April 2012 when DarlingtonOS bring this “joyous, breathtaking and heartbreaking” show to the Darlington Civic Theatre.
RMS Titanic was the largest, strongest and grandest ocean liner in the world – called, in fact, the ‘unsinkable’ ship. In the early hours of April 15, 1912, just days into her maiden voyage, the crown jewel of the White Star Line struck an iceberg and sank. A total of 1517 people – men, women and children – lost their lives, including William T Stead – the former editor of The Northern Echo, world peace advocate and defender of civil liberties.
The sinking of RMS Titanic remains the quintessential disaster story of the 20th Century and April 2012 marks the Centenary anniversary of the tragic night the ‘ship of dreams’ hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean. Countless films and TV documentaries have been made about the tragic maiden voyage of ‘the largest moving object in the world’ – none more well known than the 1997 James Cameron film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
TITANIC – The Musical swept the Tony Awards on Broadway in 1997, winning 5 including Best Musical, and went on to enjoy considerable success throughout the USA and Europe. It had its UK Premiere in May 2004. As one might expect, the demands and challenges in every department of this musical are genuinely ‘titanic’ in proportion. A huge cast of singers, actors and dancers (both adults and children) is being assembled together with a technical support team to match.
