Star Radio and ‘Live Like A Star’ is joining the cast of the new musical PopStar! which comes to Darlington Civic and the Tyne Theatre in Newcastle in April.
Antony Costa, (one of the stars of pop band Blue and I’m A Celebrity), actor John Altman (Nasty Nick from Eastenders), along with West End star Sam Kane (Linda Lusardi’s husband) are in it, along with Sarah Jane Buckley and Kiara Jansen, both from Hollyoaks and Any Dream Will Do finalist Rob McVeigh (remember the hunky builder from Rotherham??!).
The show is a comedy musical about the antics of modern day talent shows, plus it has great feelgood songs from Gloria Gaynor, Bryan Adams and Robbie Williams – and the fun thing is, you get to choose the show winner at the end of each night!
Star Radio is joining the Darlington dates at the Civic from the 7th-10th April and the cast will be taking the Finalists of ‘Live Like A Star’ for Afternoon Tea and deciding on a winner, announced after the show on the 8th of April, so have you got your Star quality on video yet??

Antony shot to fame in 2001 at the age of 20 as a member of the multi-million selling boy band BLUE. They received numerous awards including Best Pop Act 2003 at The Brits. In November 2005 he joined fellow celebrities for a once in a lifetime experience when he trekked off to the jungle for ITV's hit show "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here"
Since then Anthony as received rave reviews for his portrayal of the leading role Mickey in Blood Brothers in London's West End.
Anthony is now taking on the role of Cal, a pretty-faced, angelic, naïve and unworldly young lad. He is an only child in a single parent family and his mother has doted on him, cosseted him. Realising his potential as a singer, she has pushed him towards this brink of success. He is a lovely lad, a bit out of his depth with most of the other finalists but they all like him because there is no side to him, he is a genuinely nice guy.
