ALL ABOUT LOUISE

How did you get into radio?
I got my break in journalism at a radio station in London whilst at University studying Media Studies. I also managed to blag my way into working for a TV production company and a record label before moving back up North after graduating. After taking a year out, I went on to study a Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism in Leeds before working at a number of radio stations across the North East and Yorkshire... finally settling at Star last year.

If you weren't on the radio what would you be doing?
Horse riding instructor, because horses are the second biggest passion in my life... with journalism being my first of course!

Whats been the biggest story you've been on?
It's been a great honour and privilege to follow Catterick based soldiers in Afghanistan. Thats not only been the biggest story I've been on but will long stay with me as the best experience of my life.

If a celebrity was to play you in a film, which would it be?
Julia Roberts

What was the last film you saw?
Up - And I'm still getting over the fact I cried all the way through it.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Literally anything covered in chocolate.

Where in the world is your favourite place?
New York definitely!

One item you couldn't live without?
My Credit card - the best piece of plastic ever invented

What are you most scared of?
Spiders - especially the big black ones that run very fast across the floor!

Which celeb do you find attractive but you know you shouldn't?
It would have to be Pierce Brosnan by a mile! Especially when he took over the role as James Bond... Tall, sophisticated and drop dead gorgeous!

Two words which best describe you?
Fun and intelligent! lol

My first experience of stepping into a radio station was back in 1994 aged 14 when I did work experience at BRMB in Birmingham. I loved the buzz around the place, always something going on, and to be honest I was overwhelmed by the glitz and glamour of the whole experience. Looking back now it's funny because I know that everyone running around, what I considered at the time to be 'great fun', were probably ridiculously stressed as a news story was breaking. Anyway it was my springboard into the industry and inspired me to do hospital radio and a degree in Media at Huddersfield University.

Uni years (bit of a blur) great parties, lots of liquor, made life long friends, oh and of course some hard work towards the end to actually get my degree. I finished with a 2.1 in Media and Television Production, so the obvious route for my career was radio. ???? I know I don't know how I got here either.

If you hadn't guessed from my slight "Brummie twang" on the airwaves I'm originally from the West Midlands. Ma and pa are still there, living near Coventry now, and I moved up to Yorkshire in 1999 seeking fame and fortune.

I've worked at numerous radio stations up and down the country but eventually decided to settle here.

In my free time I love to travel. Myself and a group of friends did a round the world trip in 2005/2006, the best 12 months of my life to date. There's still a number of places I'd love to go though, so roll on the holiday period.

As a Journalist to date I've interviewed some very high profile people across politics, the royals, showbiz, sport, you name it. To name just a few Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince Andrew, Princess Anne (in fact my family call me 'Royal Correspondent') Ricky Hatton, Steve Cram, TV chef James Martin, Status Quo etc... the list goes on. I love my job because no day is the same, you've always got to be on your toes ready to react to the latest news and that makes everyday exciting.

My school report age six said "Tracy talks to much", who knew I'd make a career out of it.
